DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The future of the Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Cemetery will be the subject of a public meeting set for late September. The City of Delray Beach issued this advisory Tuesday afternoon:
>> The City of Delray Beach will host a community meeting on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m. at the Delray Beach Community Center Gymnasium, located at 50 NW 1st Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444, to provide residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to share their thoughts and observations regarding the operations and future of Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The meeting will be led by the cemetery consultant, Kuehne Cemetery Consulting, and representatives from the Office of the City Manager. The format will include an open forum for community members to speak directly with the consultant and provide input that will be considered as part of the ongoing cemetery operational assessment.
The City selected Kuehne Cemetery Consulting, a Casselberry, Florida-based firm specializing in cemetery operations and management, following the City Commission’s August 18 discussion regarding the path forward for reviewing cemetery operations.
The independent assessment includes a review of cemetery administration and policies, compliance procedures, operational planning, grounds maintenance standards, organizational structure and responsibilities, customer service and communication practices, cemetery records and interment information, financial sustainability, fees, and operating and maintenance costs. The assessment also includes a review of current and projected cemetery capacity, available inventory, future demand, development options and infrastructure needs.
