The Library System is an authorized voter registration agency, and every branch now offers voter registration applications right at the Member Services desk.
The process is simple. Ask a staff member for a voter registration application while you’re checking out your books, and they’ll hand you a paper form. Fill it out, hand it back, and the Library System takes care of the rest — staff forward completed applications directly to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections.
Branch staff can help with more than first-time registration. Residents can update a home address, switch party affiliation, change a legal name, or refresh a signature on file. Florida residents can register at any time, though the cutoff to register ahead of a specific election is 29 days before Election Day. To register, a person must be a U.S. citizen and Florida resident, at least 18 years old (16- and 17-year-olds may pre-register), not have been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting, and not have an active felony conviction that has stripped their voting rights — unless those rights have since been restored.
