POMPANO BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 40-foot Carver boat went up in flames at a Lauderdale-by-the-Sea dock early this morning, and investigators are calling the fire suspicious. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue was called shortly after 6 a.m. to the dock behind 264 S. Tradewinds Ave.
The vessel was fully involved when crews pulled up. Firefighters attacked the flames right away, racing to keep them from jumping to nearby boats and surrounding property.
The fire stayed confined to the Carver, and no civilians or firefighters were hurt. Crews stuck around after knocking it down to douse hot spots and make sure nothing reignited.
The Pompano Beach Fire Marshal is now working to determine where and how the fire started. Officials tell BocaNewsNow.com that the blaze is considered suspicious, and the investigation is ongoing.
