BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Former Palm Beach County educator Norman Riemer is now officially serving 29 months behind bars after entering guilty pleas to two counts of lewd or lascivious exhibition. His sentence started on September 15th — the day before the Palm Beach County School District officially placed him on a list that will prevent him from ever being rehired.
Riemer’s incarceration starts the latest chapter in the story that BocaNewsNow.com broke last year. As we exclusively reported In April of 2025, Riemer, now 56, was accused of sexual contact with two elementary-aged children who were in the Lake Worth home he shares with his wife — now former Whispering Pines Elementary School Principal Barbara Riemer. Norman Riemer allegedly told the girls that they should touch his private part as part of a science experiment. He was suspended from the Palm Beach County School District hours after our report on his arrest was published.
Barbara Riemer then announced her departure from her West Boca Raton elementary school weeks after her husband was charged.
Documents obtained by BocaNewsNow.com at the time indicated that Norman Riemer told his wife what he did. As a “mandatory reporter” under Florida law, Barbara Riemer was required to turn in her husband. She allegedly called DFCS and was interviewed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office regarding the incident. There is no suggestion that children at Whispering Pines Elementary were ever violated.
Norman Riemer was originally sentenced to five years but the sentence was mitigated based on a “score sheet” that takes multiple factors into account. Riemer will be on probation for five years once he is released in 2029. He must also register as a sex offender.
