DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Homeowners in the City of Delray Beach will pay slightly more in property tax for the 26/26 fiscal year. The City of Delray Beach issued this advisory to BocaNewsNow.com on Thursday:
>> The Delray Beach City Commission voted on September 22, 2026, to adopt a total millage rate of 6.3790 mills for the City’s 2026/2027 fiscal year. The adopted rate includes an operating millage rate of 6.3501 mills and a debt service millage rate of 0.0289 mills.
The adoption follows a thoughtful and deliberate budget process focused on maintaining fiscal responsibility while continuing to provide residents with quality municipal services, effective public safety, and the programs and infrastructure that contribute to Delray Beach’s quality of life.
Throughout the budget process, City staff and the City Commission carefully reviewed departmental needs, found opportunities to improve efficiencies, evaluated expenditures, and considered opportunities to maximize available resources. The process balanced the City’s financial responsibilities with the ongoing need to deliver reliable services to residents, businesses, and visitors.
“Our budget process reflects our commitment to being responsible stewards of public resources while continuing to invest in the services our community depends on,” said City Manager Terrence R. Moore. “We have worked carefully to identify efficiencies and make thoughtful decisions that support public safety, essential services, infrastructure, and quality of life.”
