Voting By Mail Is Still Very Much A Thing In Palm Beach County, Ballots Sent

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Despite what one notable Palm Beach County resident says — even though he votes by mail himself — voting by mail is safe, secure, legitimate, and very much a thing in Palm Beach County. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Election issued this advisory Friday afternoon:

>> The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office has mailed over 146,000 Vote-by-Mail ballots to domestic and stateside voters who are eligible to vote and requested to vote by mail in the 2026 General Election. The Elections Office mailed ballots to military and overseas voters on September 18. Election Day is November 3.

“With over 146,000 Vote-by-Mail ballots now on their way to Palm Beach County voters, the 2026 General Election is officially underway,” said Wendy Sartory Link, Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections. “Whether you choose to vote by mail, during Early Voting, or at your assigned polling place on Election Day, now is the time to make your plan to vote.”

Returning a Vote-by-Mail Ballot

Voters can return their Vote-by-Mail ballot using pre paid postage, drop it off inside any of our four offices during business hours, or drop it off at a Secure Ballot Intake Station. Voters may also drop off their completed Vote-by-Mail ballot at Early Voting locations during Early Voting hours. All Vote-by-Mail ballots must be returned to our Main Office by 7:00 p.m. or by 5:00 p.m. to a Branch Office or Secure Ballot Intake Station on Election Day to be counted.

Tracking a Vote-by-Mail Ballot

Voters can sign up for BallotTrax at VotePalmBeach.gov to get alerts via email, text (SMS), and/or voice message with updates about the status of their ballot or if there is an issue so that it can be corrected right away.

Voters Can Still Request to Vote by Mail

Registered voters may request a Vote-by-Mail ballot online at VotePalmBeach.gov, by email at votebymail@votepalmbeach.gov, or by calling (561) 656-6208. Voters should have their Florida Driver License, Florida ID card, or the last four digits of their Social Security number available when making the request. New Vote-by-Mail ballot requests made by the deadline for the 2026 General Election will be mailed within two business days of receiving a completed request.

Voters planning to vote by mail should remember that Vote-by-Mail requests made for the 2024 General Election Cycle expired on December 31, 2024. Voters who have not renewed their request since then must submit a new Vote-by-Mail request before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, to have a ballot mailed to them for the General Election.

Important Note: Voters who have renewed or replaced their Florida Driver License or ID since July 31, 2024, may need to update their voter registration to ensure our office has the most current information on file.

When updating your voter information online through the Florida Online Voter Registration System, be sure to enter the number from your NEW or CURRENT Florida Driver License or ID card. Using your most current information helps ensure our office can verify your identity when processing Vote-by-Mail requests and other voter services.

2026 General Election Dates & Deadlines

• Election Day – Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Deadline to register to vote – Monday, October 5, 2026.
• Deadline to request that a Vote-by-Mail ballot be mailed to you – Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
• Early Voting – Monday, October 19, through Sunday, November 1, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Deadline to return your Vote-by-Mail ballot – Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. to our Main Office or at 5:00 p.m. to a Branch Office or Secure Ballot Intake Station.
