BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Helping Hands wants the community’s help putting Thanksgiving dinner on the table for about 24,000 people this year. Its 22nd annual Thanksgiving Box Brigade gives each family a turkey and a box packed with everything needed for a holiday meal.
Helping is simple. A $29.72 donation at bocahelpinghands.org/thanksgiving covers the cost of one box. Groups that want to do more can pick up five or more boxes from the nonprofit, fill them with Thanksgiving foods and bring them back by Monday, Nov. 16. The organization says one in eight Palm Beach County residents struggles to put food on the table, with rising food costs, housing expenses and stagnant wages making things worse.
The turkeys and boxes go to current Pantry Bag Program clients the weekend before Thanksgiving at five drive-thru sites in east Boca Raton, West Boca, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Lake Worth. “Thanks to them, families who might not have had enough money to afford to celebrate can now share a holiday meal together,” said BHH CEO Andrew Hagen.
Any money raised beyond Thanksgiving costs goes to the group’s year-round food programs, which help support the 200,000 Palm Beach County families facing food insecurity. What started as a small soup kitchen in 1998 now serves more than 40,000 people a year, and Boca Helping Hands handed out more than 3.5 million meals in 2025 alone.
