Public schools in Palm Beach County are closed today.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A reminder to parents and guardians: there is no school today for students in the Palm Beach County School District.

Public schools are closed for the Columbus Day holiday. It is technically being called a “teacher work day.” Drive by area schools and let us know how many cars you see.

This is the third day off so far this year for public school students in Palm Beach County. The next day off will be Election Day — November 3rd — as many schools are used as polling places. That will be followed by a day off on November 11th, and then Thanksgiving break which runs from November 23rd through November 27th.

Area private schools are in session today.
