BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County woman says an “extremely slippery and dangerous floor” at Boca Raton Regional Hospital left her permanently hurt, and now she’s suing.
Rochelle Ackner just filed the negligence lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Boca Raton Regional Hospital, Inc. and Baptist Health South Florida, Inc. According to the complaint, Ackner was lawfully on the hospital property at 690 Meadows Road on Oct. 10, 2022, when the floor condition caused her injuries. The filing came two days shy of four years after the incident. It does not say where in the hospital it happened or why she was there.
The suit claims both defendants failed to keep the property reasonably safe and failed to correct or warn about the hazard, even though they knew or should have known about it through reasonable inspections or prior similar incidents. It also alleges they either had no procedure for regularly inspecting the premises or didn’t follow the one they had. Ackner says she suffered injuries to her left hip, left leg and back, and that she faces ongoing pain, medical bills and lost earnings.
She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and wants a jury trial. Fort Lauderdale attorney Anthony H. Quackenbush of The Quackenbush Law Firm represents her.
