The crash happened at 7:11 p.m. Oct. 6. Lea Levy, 83, was driving a 2019 Lexus RX350 south on Hagen Ranch Road in the left turn lane, where the signal showed a flashing yellow arrow. Moshe Levy, 88, was in the passenger seat.
Deputies say she turned in front of a northbound 2021 Lexus NX300F driven by Johnny Nguyen, 33, of Delray Beach, who had a green light. The front of Nguyen’s SUV hit the passenger side of the RX350. Both vehicles spun counterclockwise, with the Levys’ Lexus stopping in the intersection facing north and Nguyen’s coming to rest facing south in the northbound lanes.
All three were taken to Delray Medical Center. Lea Levy and Nguyen had minor injuries. Moshe Levy died at the hospital at 1:03 p.m. Oct. 15. Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt, and the sheriff’s report lists no charges.
