BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 43-year-old woman is facing two felonies and a domestic battery charge after Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputies say she hit her wheelchair-bound husband, then shoved a deputy who tried to talk to him. Maureen Ashley Frank was arrested Saturday evening at the couple’s home in the community of Boca Falls in unincorporated Boca Raton.

According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, the husband called 911 around 6:15 p.m. to report that his wife hit him in the face and left. By the time the first deputy arrived, Frank was back. According to the probable cause affidavit, she planted herself in the doorway, refused to let the deputy speak with her husband and demanded proof that he had called. When the door opened again, she allegedly pushed the deputy with her right hand and shut it. The deputy pulled her to the ground by her jacket. She refused to give up her hands, got back up at one point, and was finally handcuffed once a second unit arrived.

The husband, who deputies say suffered a traumatic brain injury in a vehicle crash, told investigators in a sworn video statement that he was afraid of his wife.

Maureen Frank, according to PBSO, asked for an attorney and gave no statement. A deputy wrote that she was very talkative, had mood swings and appeared to have short-term memory problems. She is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence, both felonies, plus misdemeanor domestic battery.

Bond was set at $5,000 and Frank was ordered to stay away from the alleged victim.
