BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 34-year-old Boca Raton man who lives in “The Oaks At Boca Raton” is charged with battery after police say he opened a front door, shoved a man ’65 or older’ into the bushes, and then fought him again inside the house. A 5-month-old was in the home. Justin Ryan Heller was arrested Oct. 15 by Boca Raton Police and charged with battery on a person 65 years of age or older. The location of the incident remains redacted. Heller lives on Cadena Drive in Boca Raton.

According to the probable cause affidavit reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Heller and the man were arguing over an outing the man had taken the night before without Heller’s approval. Heller told police the man insulted his late mother and threatened to fight him. Heller said he told him to come to the residence if he wanted to fight, then hung up.

The man showed up. Heller admitted opening the front door and immediately pushing him into nearby bushes, police said. The man told officers Heller climbed on top of him and hit him repeatedly, and that Heller later punched him on the floor during a second fight in the foyer after the man followed him inside. A witness saw the initial shove, and Ring camera footage showed the push and both men fighting on the ground. Police documented scratches on the man’s face, a raised bump on his forehead, a torn shirt, and dirt on the back of his clothes.

Heller told police that after the second fight, the man grabbed a baseball bat from a bedroom. Heller said he went upstairs, where he kept a gun in a black waist bag, and warned the man he was armed if he tried to swing the bat. Heller was charged with “battery on a person 65 years of age or older,” booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $7500 bond. A court date is pending.
