BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A female employee at Woodfield Country Club Tuesday morning was rushed to an area hospital after she apparently got a cactus stuck in her eye.
Sources familiar with operations and the specific incident at Woodfield tell BocaNewsNow.com that the woman was in a maintenance area of the country club when the “pencil cactus” became stuck in her eye — protruding into the eye cavity. Workers on the scene tried to flush it but relied on Boca Raton Fire Rescue for emergency aid. Her condition is unclear mid-morning.
The pencil cactus is a small, thin cactus seen in the image above provided by Amazon, where you can buy it planted for $15.
It is unknown if the cactus was part of landscaping for the controversial wall that Woodfield Country Club is building along Clint Moore Road.
