THANK YOU NEARLY A HALF MILLION TIMES

BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Disasters and tragedies are never good. The plane crash in Palm Beach County yesterday was both. And while it’s not the sort of news we want to report, we want to take a moment to thank you for trusting BocaNewsNow.com.

Nearly 500,000 people turned to us yesterday, a one-day record for this hyperlocal website. We were first with the story by nearly 45 minutes. While area TV stations reported a gas main break or similar situation, our sources told us it was a plane. We immediately reported that information to you online, through our massive (free) subscription email list, and through our push alerts.

From Matt Drudge at the famous Drudge Report to other major operations, BocaNewsNow.com was heavily linked and emphatically trusted. We thank those organizations who let us help them. We also appreciate that other area news organizations rely on us to be their assignment desk — when their assignment desks seem to have no idea what’s going on. That’s an honor, too. We know staffing is tough at old school TV and radio stations. We are happy to help.

We are aware that we are often copied and sometimes plagiarized by those who don’t have the experience or ability of the BocaNewsNow.com team. But we are humbled by knowledge that our readers know the difference between journalism and AI-copycat slop. You’ve proved it over the last 30 hours.

From BocaNewsNow.com to the nearly half million of you who turned to us for reality in real time, we thank you. We appreciate you. And we are honored to serve you.
