MAJOR TURNPIKE CRASH: Stay Off Southbound Near Glades Road

UPDATE 12:27 p.m. — Traffic is now moving, but extremely slowly.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A six car crash on the Florida Turnpike near Glades Road is causing huge southbound delays mid-day Wednesday.

The crash, reported just before 10:45, resulted in a huge rescue response. The good news: we are unaware of any critical injuries. The bad news: traffic seems to be backed up for miles.

The Florida Department of Transportation is alerting on its system that delays are classified as “major.” While first responders tend to work quickly, we understand it is a multi-part crash scene. That means it may take a while for FHP and others to do what they need to do before all of the vehicles can be towed.

Check back for updates but assume delays will be significant for the next hour or two on the Southbound Florida Turnpike starting at Atlantic.
