Second Time In Weeks. Barber Leaves ManCave Mission Bay Boca Raton. Sets Up Shop “Too Close.”

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — ManCave of Mission Bay is taking another former barber to court, alleging he cut more than just hair when he left the company last fall. According to a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County, Samuel Siqueira Quimquim is accused of cutting into ManCave’s business by violating a non-compete agreement. The suit says Sam opened “Sam The Barber,” just 3.6 miles away from ManCave Mission Bay. ManCave claims Sam’s shop sits within a restricted five-mile radius that Quimquim agreed to steer clear of for two years after his departure.
This is the second non-compete suit filed by ManCave in just weeks. Read our earlier coverage here.
The relationship between Sam and ManCave was once close enough that ManCave’s principals say they sponsored Quimquim for his American citizenship. Quimquim, the suit says, received his citizenship on September 8, 2025—the same day he ended his four-year stint with the shop and allegedly moved his operations to the competing site. ManCave argues that almost all the clients Quimquim serviced were developed through their own branding, booking systems, and significant financial investment.
The suit also claims that Quimquim is actively “poaching” customers using confidential contact lists. ManCave claims that Quimquim accessed their proprietary POS system to solicit clients and even used photos taken inside the ManCave studio to promote his new independent booking website.
ManCave is now asking a judge for an injunction to shut down Quimquim’s nearby operations and is seeking over $50,000 in damages for lost revenue and legal fees. Quimquim, according to the filing, refused to stop his competing services despite the pending litigation.
