WOODFIELD COUNTRY CLUB THREATENS US OVER OUR REPORTING OF ITS FACELIFT

Becker Woodfield Country Club
Document from Becker law firm regarding a cease and desist demand addressed to BocaNewsNow, with an image of a road scene featuring palm trees and vehicles.

BY: ANDREW COLTON | Editor and Publisher | BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton’s Woodfield Country Club apparently has no sense of humor. In fact, it appears the Woodfield HOA is just as annoyed with BocaNewsNow.com’s reporting on the traffic nightmare the community has created as many in Boca Raton are with Woodfield’s takeover of Clint Moore Road. Why did Woodfield shut down a lane on Clint Moore Road? So the HOA can cut down trees and install a security wall.

We received a completely over-the-top, quasi-threatening, and largely grammatically correct letter from the HOA’s law firm this afternoon. At issue, our jest that we would publish the name and address of everyone who lives in Woodfield. We were joking. More importantly, we have no need to publish everyone’s name and address, considering all of that information is publicly available under Florida Statute. In fact, all anyone has to do to see who owns what is to visit the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s website.

We don’t know what Attorney Jonathan Zim charges per hour at Becker Poliakoff for a letter like this, but it’s good to know the Woodfield HOA has money for simultaneously cutting down trees, building a wall, causing traffic delays, placing its private security cars on a public road, and sending threatening letters. In a day and age where preservation of free speech has never been more important, we ponder whether the Woodfield HOA also has funds for an ANTI-SLAPP suit — a suit filed against an entity that attempts to thwart free speech. That includes publishing public records.

Here is the letter mailed, emailed, and sent via FedEx by Becker Poliakoff. If you live in Woodfield and ever think your HOA is charging you too much, just remember it includes threatening letters like this — sent in triplicate. In fact, let us know what you think about your HOA spending money on paying an attorney to thwart free speech by emailing us at WoodfieldSpendsMoney@bocanewsnow.com.

  1. I live in woodfield and I am appalled that this letter was sent. The normal people who live in here knew it was a joke and agree that the construction is a bad look for us. I am personally sorry that you received this.

  2. Our Board has to go. This is offensive. Who approved this? People are complaining about the mess we created on Clint Moore Road all the time now. Why would we spend money to threaten someone? No one is going to want to buy here if they think we do things like this. I can’t believe this.

  3. We’ve lived here for over 15 years, and it’s sad to see how little this Board seems to care about residents, their money, or common decency. Now they’re sending demand letters over jokes? Maybe the publication should name the Board members responsible. With an eight-foot wall going up, we might as well rename the community Leavenworth!

  4. Sorry, when it comes to the uber liberal Boca Raton News, you’d be insane not to believe that the liberals would do anything to insult, humiliate anyone that disagrees with them. Keep in mind that this news outlet suffers from a terminal case of TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome). Like all liberal outlets, because they have the power of the pen and can print anything they please, only a fool would believe that these deceitful liars would not do something evil, that’s their middle name.

  5. I can not believe our community sent this letter. Since when is our HOA the speech police? We need new leadership here. This is a nice community doing a very not nice thing with the traffic problems we are causing. Humility would be a good course to take. Why are we threatening?

  6. So boca news now does not like to get letters from a attorney that basically say mind you own business
and if you go any further we will take action,i am not saying the board is right they are total losers im sure
but boca news now is just as bad.
This is what a liberal news outlet does

  7. I have to deal with this traffic every day and it’s absolutely miserable. our hoa misrepresents our entire neighborhood and community. my precious hoa fees do not go towards threatening the public.

  8. Any board hiring Poliakoff and Backer should understand they seem to love lawsuits. They sue and threaten to sue owners who don’t agree with the board. I have heard the firm has a reputation for gutting HOA legal fee budgets with no intention of avoiding or settling lawsuits.

    1. You seem to be correct. Homeowners should look at the annual legal spend before this Zim guy was hired and after. Guaranteed it is at least 3 times more. Probably a friend’s family member.
