UPDATE: It was in fact President Trump who shut the airport he wanted named for himself mid-day Sunday, causing travel problems for thousands of people. He spent the weekend at Mar-A-Lago and apparently decided to depart during peak travel hours mid-day Sunday. Flights were prohibited from landing or departing while he was on property, and all exits and entrances were blocked. (Unrelated: we remind you that mail-in ballots can now be returned to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, and early voting starts Monday. We also remind that you President Trump (DJT) says you should vote like he’s on the ballot).
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The airport currently known as DJT was closed mid-day Sunday for an unspecified reason. All entrances — including roadways — were blocked by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies and FHP troopers.
The airport reopened around 1:35 p.m.
It’s unclear what led to the closure. Even the I-95 exit to the airport blocked by FHP. Traffic sat on Belvedere Road while PBSO deputies told people to call their airline for updates. Neither deputies on the scene, or PBSO officials, immediately explained what led to the closure.
Travelers were seen walking down the airport’s huge driveway onto Belvedere with bags — waiting for ride-share drivers to pick them up on the road. No one was allowed to enter the airport — even on foot.
Check back for updates.

THE DJT EMPOROR HAS NO CLOTHES!
so true
It’s so “sweet” of him to inconvenience every person flying in/out of PBI bc he a narcissistic jackazz.
I hope we will see the back of him sooner than later.
Can’t agree with you more!!
Why does this man constantly cause problems?
He has no regard for anyone except himself!
God help us all😪
Stop making a big deal about this – it happens anytime a president travels. Biden closed down roads with his weekend beach trips. Wake Up Floridians – look at Paris / France burning right now. Do we want this in Boca? PB? Miami? #votered It’s not about Trump, it’s about preserving our beautiful state.
