UPDATE: 2PM — Schools are CLOSED on Monday. Latest, here.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Schools are set to be OPEN Monday in the Palm Beach County School District as of 9:50 a.m. Sunday. A senior school district official tells BocaNewsNow.com that the school district’s leaders and weather team are watching Tropical Storm Eta closely and that a decision will be made later Sunday. Parents, students and staff will be contacted by email, robocall and through the news media if schools are closed.

While most students remain in “distance learning,” much of the school district’s remote education infrastructure has moved back to physical “brick and mortar” buildings, so the school district can’t simply say, “we’re remote today,” without it creating technological problems.
