SURFSIDE, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There are 138 registered owners of units in Champlain Towers South, the building that collapsed Thursday morning in the town of Surfside.
While some units are owned by LLCs and investment groups, many are owned by individuals or couples.
As of 5 p.m. Thursday, there are still roughly 100 people unaccounted for in the rubble of the building that collapsed early in the morning.
BocaNewsNow.com received several requests during the day for victim names and information. That information is not yet released, but this list provides insight into who — potentially — was in the building at the time of the disaster. If this list does not appear, please access the PDF right here.
We note as you read the five page list that this is vacation time for many people, so there is no suggestion that owners were — or were not — in the building at the time of the disaster. Units could also be occupied by renters or vacationers leasing through online services.
A family assistance center is open at the Surfside Recreational Center at 9301 Collins Avenue. This link leads to the Miami-Dade County Missing Persons Online Reporting system.
