BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The mask mandate in effect in Palm Beach County courthouses comes to an end on November 15th, when most court proceedings return to in-person status.
The administrative order was issued Thursday afternoon by the Florida Supreme Court.
While there have been several changes to court policies over the past eighteen months of COVID-19, this administrative order is a major step forward in returning to pre-COVID-19 policies and procedures. However, judges for several case types do have the authority to continue to hear cases via Zoom. There is an environmental upside: lawyers and litigants will not need to physically drive to court for what are often five-minute status checks.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is still ordered to cite, or arrest, those who refuse to wear a mask in the courthouse until the mask mandate officially ends on November 15th.
