FIBER CUT: No TV, Internet, Phone For Thousands

UPDATE: Internet, phone and television service for Hotwire Communications customers — at least in West Boca Raton — was restored just before 9p Monday.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — A major fiber optic cable that serves cable tv providers in Florida has been cut, silencing TVs and logging off Internet connections for thousands of subscribers throughout the state.
Phone service is also down.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that HotWire Communications customers statewide are affected, and other providers may be impacted as well.
A customer service representative suggested that the repair is a major undertaking and may take several hours to complete.
