BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2021 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An Omni Middle School teacher is dead from unknown causes.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue responded to the home of William Gallon on Sonrisa Way overnight and found him “unresponsive.” Gallon was pronounced dead a short time later.
William “Bill” Gallon, 63, shared the Sonrisa Way address with Christopher Gallon who the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office said in early August was under investigation for a fatal DUI crash on Camino Real. We covered that crash on August 2nd.
“The case is still open and active,” said a PBSO spokesperson.
A Palm Beach County School District Spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for information about Gallon’s death. An Omni Middle School office administrator died earlier this month from COVID-19. It was unclear if Gallon’s death was COVID-19 related.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained this email sent by Principal Nikkia DeLuz which confirms the death:
To the Omni Middle School family,
I’m saddened to share the loss of one of our beloved staff members, William “Bill” Gallon, who unexpectedly passed away yesterday. For more than a decade, Mr. Gallon had served the students of this school as a history teacher, and will be terribly missed.
He was passionately devoted to this campus, as well as to this community, and the students who walked these hallways over the years. In fact, for Mr. Gallon, the only thing he may have been more devoted to than this campus and his beloved family, was the garnet and gold of Florida State University.
As we mourn Mr. Gallon, we remember his presence on this campus, and keep his family and friends in our thoughts. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Gallon for 3 years, and I know you will reflect back, as I have, to all the wonderful memories built over the years together, including those strong relationships he built with the students and staff. He was always counted on to lend a hand whenever it was needed.
Information on funeral services will be shared as it becomes available.
Parents, please monitor your students’ behavior for any signs of distress related to this situation, and do not hesitate to send any students to a counselor for help.
At Omni Middle School, we are a family that celebrates our successes, and grieves our losses together.
I am certain that you will keep the family in your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Nikkia Deluz
Principal, Omni Middle School
