DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man apparently drove his golf cart into a lake behind the club house in the senior living community of Kings Point mid-day Monday.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene for what was originally described by callers as a “drowning.” The victim — a man — was successfully pulled from the water, was breathing on his own, and communicative once rescuers arrived on the scene and found the incident location.
The man was rushed to Delray Medical Center. His age was not immediately known, according to sources connected to the rescue operation.
The incident follows a fatal car crash in Kings Point on Friday. In that incident, a 76-year-old man crashed his car into a residential building. The car — and building — caught on fire. While the man was transported to Delray Medical Center in critical condition, a female passenger in the car — with the same last name but different address — was pronounced dead at the scene.
