PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The victims of last week’s small plane crash in Palm Beach County have now been identified.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says Ana Diego Matias, 20, of Lantana is one of the victims. Stanley Sands, 76, of Lake Worth is the other. It is unclear how the two knew each other or why they were both in the Cessna that crashed.

As we reported on May 26th, police and fire rescue were dispatched to the Lantana Airport at Lantana Road and Congress Avenue for the report of a small plane crash.

From our initial report: “While official details are few, BocaNewsNow.com has learned from FlightAware.com that a Cessna 172P took off from Lantana at 11:18 a.m. with no destination. Its status is now listed as “unknown.” The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says it received a report of a plane down at 11:19 a.m.
