BocaNewsNow.com now has the official arrest report and the allegations suggest this was a major bust by Boca Raton Police with assistance by Delray Beach Police. This is the narrative of the takedown:

“On April 19th, 2024, at approximately 2326 hours officer Grubbs and I conducted a traffic stop at 1700 § Federal Hwy, City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County Florida on a 2020 Nissan Rouge bearing FL tag 05ABSQ. I had observed the vehicle driving southbound on Federal Hwy and I paced it for approx. .75 miles doing 41mph in a 35mph zone. I asked Officer Grubbs to initiate a traffic stop in his marked patrol unit, to which he did and the vehicle stopped. I made contact with the driver and sole occupant Andrew Kannedy. Kennedy’s eyes were bloodshot, and there was the odor of alcohol emanating frb his person. I also observed an open beer bottle on the passenger floorboard with liquid still in it. Kennedy seened to struggle locating his insurance, and was on the phone with a female he called his girlfriend Donna. He stated he was travelling to Deerfield Beach, but would not state why. Due to the indicators of alcohol impairment, Officer Grubbs asked Kennedy to exit the vehicle, and he conducted standard fiold sobriety exercises (SFST’s). See his supplement for further. While Officer Grubbs was conducting SFTS’s, Sgt Margolis fron Delray Beach PD, and K9 Bo, a certified narcotics detection canine arrived on scene. K9 Bo conducted an open air sweep around the outside of the vehicle, and K9 Bo alerted to the rear of the car. It should be noted that Officer Hettchen had observed Kennedy access the rear of his vehicle prior to him driving away from 1801 N Federal Hwy, and constant surveillance had been maintained on Kennedy until the time of the traffic stop.

Sgt Margolis then placed K9 Bo inside the vehicle and he again alerted on the rear passenger seat area. I then accessed the rear hatch of the vehicle and lifted up the access to the spare tire. There was a black bag located on top of the spare tire not consistent with what I have seen in or around spare tires in vehicles. Inside that bag was a shower cap containing 60 small clear baggies, a digital scale, a razor blade, 2 baggies containing white powder, and a baggie containing 20 white pills and one peach pill of an unknown substance, and 4 chocolate bars that stated 4 grams of psychedelics for a total of 16 grams. At that time Kennedy was detained in handcuffs and read his constitutional warnings fron a pre-printed agency card. He stated he understood his rights. I then approached him, reminded hin of his rights, and asked him if he knew what the substance in the baggies was. He did not want to tell me but stated “you know what it is.”

I then asked hin if it was cocaine, and he shook his head “yes.” I then field tested the powder in one of the baggies, and it field tested positive for cocaine. Photos were taken of the powered cocaine and the positive test and classified as evidence. At that time Kennedy was advised he was being placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest was conducted on him and a white “to go” pill bottle was located in is right front zippered pocket of his shorts. Kennedy stated to Officer Grubbs there were narcotics inside the bottle, and inside I located what appeared to be 3 large crack rocks.

All the narcotics and paraphernalia were seized and transported to the Police Department. Once in booking the two baggies with white powder field tasted positive for cocaine, as did the three crack rocks. The total weight of all the cocaine was 70.3 grams with bag. Poison control was contacted and the 20 white pills were identified as 350ng Carisoprodol a schedule 4 narcotic, weighing 11.1 grams, and the peach pill was identified as.5g of Clonazepan, a schedule 4 narcotic weighing.1 grams. I am therefore charging Kennedy with FSS 893.135(1B1) Trafficking in cocaine greater than 28 grams less than 200 grams, as he was the only person in the car and the narcotics were located in the last place Kennedy was observed accessing before driving. I am further charging him with FSS 893.13(6A) Possession of a schedule 4 narcotic for the pills, as they were not in prescription bottles and Kennedy does not have a prescription for then, as well as FSS 893.147 possession of paraphernalia as the scale, razor blade and baggies were located in the sane black bag as all the narcotics, and are consistent with what I have seen for use in narcotics sales.”

Kennedy lists his home address as the unit block of Baytree Circle in Boca Raton.
