Kings Point Delray Beach Sued By Man Who Slips In Bathroom On “Unknown Substance”

Kings Point in Delray Beach is being sued by a man who slipped in a bathroom and sustained what he says are critical injuries.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A condominium owner in Kings Point Delray Beach is suing the Kings Point Recreation Corporation after he says he slipped in a bathroom on an “unknown substance” and sustained critical injuries.

Harvey Goldstein ,who lives in the Flanders section of Kings Point, alleges that he was “at the pool next to his condo (when he) went to the men’s bathroom to use the urinal when suddenly and unexpectedly he slipped on a liquid substance sustained a wedge compression fraction of his first lumbar vertebra. The liquid on the floor was not readily visible to the Plaintiff and the Plaintiff was not otherwise aware of the liquid on the floor and no caution signs were placed letting people know of any dangers.”

The suit claims that the Kings Point Recreation Corporation was negligent for multiple reasons, including, “in failing to maintain its premises, including the floor that caused the Plaintiff to fall; in failing to remove the liquid from the floor; in failing to post or display warning signs at the floor was wet; and failing to adequately supervise Kings Point employees on the procedures for inspecting and cleaning the floors.”

The lawsuit seeks in excess of $50,000 which is the statutory minimum for filing a complaint in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. Mr. Goldstein is represented by Kennth J. Ronan of the law firm Lavalle, Brown, Ronan and Schwenke P.A. In Boca Raton. No attorneys for Kings Point were listed as of Saturday morning, June 15, 2024.
