New York Woman Sues Hotel, Once Known As “The Boca Resort.” Second Injury Suit In Days Against Hotel.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A New York woman is suing The Boca Raton, claiming an elevator at the resort plummeted and crashed to the ground with her inside, just days after another guest sued the resort over a tablecloth mishap.
Theresa LaRocca, who lives in Kings County, New York, filed a negligence lawsuit against The Boca Raton, LLC in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. According to the complaint, LaRocca was a guest at the resort, located at 501 East Camino Real, on February 27, 2025, when the elevator she was riding malfunctioned and fell. The Boca Raton is the new — and often mocked — name of “The Boca Resort.”
The suit claims The Boca Raton knew or should have known about a dangerous condition with the elevator and failed to warn guests or fix the problem before LaRocca’s fall. LaRocca says the incident left her with serious injuries, including pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and expenses for medical and nursing care that she argues may be permanent.
The complaint, filed by attorney Travis Russell of Farah & Farah, P.A., seeks damages in excess of $50,000.
It’s the second lawsuit filed against The Boca Raton in a matter of days. BocaNewsNow.com reported Wednesday that a Palm Beach County couple sued the resort after a bunched-up tablecloth at a buffet table allegedly caused a woman to fall and require surgery. The Boca Raton has not yet responded to either lawsuit in court filings.
