Apple AirTag Leads PBSO Task Force To Suspect.

TaQuanna Iesha Vickers, 36, is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended or revoked license, according to a PBSO arrest report processed by the Clerk of Courts and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com Monday afternoon. BocaNewsNow.com first reported on the burglary at Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Station #52 on Pheasant Way Friday morning.
PBSO Investigators say the spree started in St. Lucie County, where Vickers is accused of stealing a 2009 Cadillac STS from a Fort Pierce convenience store. She allegedly drove that car to Delray Beach, ditched it, and walked to the fire station in Boca Raton — where she’s accused of breaking into a Dodge Durango and stealing a wallet, then breaking into an enclosed garage-like structure and driving off in a Honda Odyssey that belonged to another victim. Deputies say she later abandoned the Odyssey near Hypoluxo Road and used one of the stolen credit cards to buy $66.50 worth of merchandise at a gas station.
That’s where the AirTag comes in. One of the victims had the tracking device attached to his wallet, and deputies with the Sheriff’s Office’s South Florida Criminal Apprehension Team followed its signal straight to Vickers, who they say was walking alone in the area. Deputies say they confirmed the AirTag’s movements matched hers before making contact and taking her into custody. Investigators recovered the stolen wallet, credit cards, a knife, a vape device and other personal items in her possession.
Court records indicate Vickers has prior theft-related arrests in Martin and Brevard counties. She remains held in the Palm Beach County Jail on $25,000 bond.
