SANSONE AIR IN PALM BEACH COUNTY PROMOTES SERVICE IT DOESN’T OFFER. FLORIDA STATUTE SAYS THAT’S ILLEGAL.

As BocaNewsNow.com reported late last week, Sansone Air promotes around the clock emergency service, yet only operates from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The company blamed a “new website design” as the reason for the false advertising. But new information is raising new questions.
BocaNewsNow.com learned that despite Sansone’s claim that the 24/7 emergency response language was an error, the company continues to pay Google for advertising that promotes emergency service any time of day. And Monday, an email blast again promoted service that the company does not provide.
How bad is this for Sansone? So bad that a former owner of the company — Scott Sansone — emailed BocaNewsNow.com last week to ask that his name be removed from our initial reporting — a name that remains on a SunBiz registration document. We obliged as he told us that it “damages my reputation.” It is significant that a former owner of a company who shares the same name as the company believes that Sansone’s marketing is damaging his reputation.
We have not heard from Sansone — the company — since initially reporting on its marketing missteps. We have however heard from experts who point to Florida Statute 817.41 which makes it a crime in Florida to engage in misleading advertising. From the statute: “It shall be unlawful for any person to make or disseminate or cause to be made or disseminated before the general public of the state, or any portion thereof, any misleading advertisement. Such making or dissemination of misleading advertising shall constitute and is hereby declared to be fraudulent and unlawful, designed and intended for obtaining money or property under false pretenses”
We also note Florida Statute 501.204 which is Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
