BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The former tennis and pickleball director at Lotus Palm, the upscale Boca Raton community, is suing the homeowners association, its management company and three board members, claiming they told every resident he’d stolen money. William Ljungstrom and his company, Swede Dreams, L.L.C., filed the suit Sept. 14 in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Lotus Palm Homeowners Association, GRS Management Associates and board members Yan Shvarts, Lori Murrin and Jeffrey Spitzer.

According to the complaint, the association terminated Ljungstrom’s contract on Aug. 11 and had him clear his belongings out of the Pro Shop while a security officer watched and residents looked on. The same day, the suit says, an email blast went to the entire community claiming his deal included an extra $50,000 a year meant entirely for a full-time pickleball pro, and that Ljungstrom paid that pro, Nick Keener, “thousands of dollars less” than the full amount. Ljungstrom calls that a lie. His contract never required all $50,000 to go to the instructor, the suit says, and his agreement with Keener let him keep 10 percent for overhead such as accounting, insurance and staff. None of the $50,000 had even changed hands yet, according to the filing. We are publishing the letter sent to Lotus Palm homeowners here:

The suit also accuses the HOA of hiring Keener directly despite a 12-month non-compete in his contract with Ljungstrom. It claims the association and GRS made at least $6,005 in unauthorized debits from Ljungstrom’s business bank account after he was let go, and that he’s owed at least $129,191 in unpaid compensation and revenue.

The complaint suggests the dispute grew out of friction with Spitzer, who it says sent “aggressive and rude” messages complaining about how Ljungstrom assigned pickleball teams. Ljungstrom is seeking money and an apology.

Lotus Palm has not responded to the suit as of October 3rd. Lotus Palm is just one of several G.L. Homes Communities to face internal strife and residents involved in community-related legal action during its first few years of existence. Seven Bridges faced a federal lawsuit from a homeowner claiming religious discrimination. Boca Bridges is facing several open lawsuits in Palm Beach County. Homeowners in Lotus are accused of battering a child on an e-bike. And a man is accused of slamming into a motorcyclist while exiting Lotus Edge.
