BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — You can’t make this up. Boca Raton Police repot that a man named Jaret Santa — yes, Santa — was in an argument with Jeremy Kevah at the Mobil Gas Station in the 1400 Block of West Yamato Road. According to police, Santa made verbal threats and displayed a small handgun.
A “be on the lookout” (BOLO) was issued for Santa who was found in the Nordstrom parking garage at the Boca Town Center Mall. The handgun was recovered and — only in Florida — Santa was placed under arrest.
Santa remains in the Palm Beach County Jail on $15,000 bond. He’s officially been charged with “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill,” and a related charge.
Despite what you may have heard about Santa, he lists his address as the 5500 block of NW 23rd Terrace in Boca.
Everyone does eventually end up in Florida. Even Santa.

  1. Why would you include this man’s address? Try to maintain some professionalism when writing an article about events that have life altering consequences for a person’s life.

    1. We’ll answer with this question: why would a man take a gun to a mall — let alone during peak holiday shopping season?
Arrest records are public record. The best way to avoid having your information released by the police to the media is to avoid being arrested for things like taking a gun to the mall after using it during an argument.
      Happy Holidays!

      1. Right, arrest records are public and this man committed an extremely stupid act, but that doesn’t erase the media’s responsibility to maintain a certain air of professionalism. Adding erroneous facts to an article, such as the suspects address, is not only unprofessional, but irresponsible as it can create further problems for those involved. I understand that adding a “santa” theme to the article is intended to boost the entertainment value of the content, but as the media, you have the responsibility to put good reporting over entertainment.
Happy holidays to you as well!

      2. In response to the staff, the question is not why did he bring a gun to the mall. Self defense is perfectly sane and legal. The real question is why in the heck he would be dumb and immature enough to display it for “shock” value in an argument. What a jacka$$!
