DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Ocean One Grille in Delray Market Place at 14551 Lyons Road is the subject of ten ”high priority” violations issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation over just two days. The first inspection was so bad that a second inspection was ordered. Several of the original issues remained when the inspector returned.

We note that Ocean Grille told BocaNewsNow.com that it spent a significant amount of money — and was closed for months last year — to install screen enclosures at the restaurant that ended up blocking pedestrian access. Those screens do not appear to be working, according to the inspection reports.

Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, the following inspection items are printed as they appear in the official report — with little to no editing. We start with the May 18th report:

High Priority – Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area. Observed approximately 30 small flying insects landing on quemical boxes, mop, dust pans on mop sink area. To the right of walk-in cooler passing prep area. To the left of back door. Observed approximately 20 small flying insects landing on tv shelf, beer boxes shelving , dust pans, mop across from bar area. immediate AC with a following day per Michelle Haynes at 2:33pm. **Admin Complaint**

Raw chicken above cooked mussels pasta station. Raw burgers behind dressing grill station. Raw chicken above cooked chicken, raw beef above cooked beef, raw scallops above cooked pasta, raw steaks above chopped parsley inside walk-in cooler. High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food, other than whole meat roast, hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Observed seating on kitchen area chicken wings (72F – Hot Holding); chicken broth (117F – Hot Holding); French fries (108F – hot holding) and inside steam table a container with mash potatoes (130F – Hot Holding). Adhesive solution stored on top of prep table by pantry Paint can over olives and adhesive solution next to cashews and bug spray over soda inside silverware folding room. Observed a deep container of créme brûlée at 10:00am (56°Cooling) inside walk-in cooler. Per operator product has been cooling since yesterday. Product did not cool within 6 hours. We note that the Florida Department of Business and Professional did not order Ocean One Grille in Delray Beach to shut down this time, although it was ordered to close in May of 2021. An unannounced follow-up inspection is pending.
