No one seems to know why this woman brought a dog to the new Panera Bread on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — They’re at it again. Those rude, self-absorbed dog owners who believe the rest of the world wants their pooch in food stores in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and across Palm Beach County.

Aside from the fact it’s illegal in most circumstances, most of our intelligent readers believe it’s just selfish. Only trained service animals are permitted in a store that sells food, and it’s a violation of Florida law to lie about a dog’s training. Emotional support animals are not real “service” animals and not permitted. But as BocaNewsNow.com learns on a daily basis through emails from our readers, the laws don’t seem to be stopping the special breed of person that brings their pet into South Palm Beach County stores. But our readers hope a “Boca Rudeton™” nomination will! We are sharing some of the several nominations we’ve received over the past several days.

We start with the woman in the brand new Panera Bread on Atlantic Avenue near Lyons Road. What better place than to bring a hairy beast than a brand new restaurant that specializes in baked goods?

We move on to the gentleman below wearing the black cap. He’s at the Fresh Market on Military Trail in Boca Raton. His dog is there too. No, we don’t know why. Fresh Market is known for higher quality food — not food exposed to, well, dog.

%%
One would think that the Fresh Market on Military Trail in Boca Raton would comply with laws and make an effort to keep dogs away human food.

The Walmart on Military Trail is home to the woman below with very tight pants and a dog in her cart. That’s not a euphemism. She really has a dog in her cart. That’s gross. If a dog is really trained and providing a medical service, it shouldn’t be hitching a ride in a vehicle meant for food.

The Walmart on U.S. 441 in Boca Raton also has a dog problem. The woman with the umbrella — and we don’t believe it’s Mary Poppins — inexplicably had her dog in the store which sells food. Maybe the furry brown thing is actually a highly trained service animal. Maybe.

And in B.J.’s Boca Raton, the man below is also the subject of question by one of our readers who wants to know why his precious fluffy is in the cart. We have no idea. Again, maybe this dog is a highly trained service animal that can do amazing things. Or, maybe it’s just a dog sitting in a cart in a food store — two places where it doesn’t belong.

We don’t know if this dog’s name is Fluffy, but we do know that it doesn’t belong in a shopping cart in BJ’s Boca Raton.

So who is our Boca Rudeton winner for this Saturday, March 9th, 2024? It’s a tough one. But let’s go with the dog in the brand new Panera on Atlantic Avenue near the turnpike in Delray Beach. It’s the photo at the top of this article. What does our winner win? Well, as our readers know, we don’t really give away prizes. But if we did, it would be a Panera bagel shaped as a beagle, just as a reminder that animals have no business being in a business that sells food. (Unless, of course, that animal is officially trained to provide a special service, which, you know, is possible but seems, well, you decide). It’s also fun to say beagle and bagel in the same sentence.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Share your thoughts about these dog people in our comment section, below. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of MetroDesk Media, LLC. Rude dog people is a trademark of South Palm Beach County.

    1. If you suffered from allergies to dogs you may consider the content of this post important for your health. Leave pets at home or in the car weather permitting. No one should have to suffer for this blatant lack of understanding other people’s concerns.

      1. People are allergic to nuts but markets still have them on the shelves… and in this case the stores have nuts taking photos of customers and their pets

      2. @Jeff Levin : First off, one with a NUT ALLERGY must EAT NUTS to be affected in most cases. Secondly, what major store sells nuts completely out in the open ? NONE. While people who are ALLERGIC TO DOGS are affected by just the presence of them – You sound like you are as big of serial liar as #TraitorTrump.. 🤣

      1. Sorry dude, no one hates dogs in here…it’s the folks who blatantly break the law is what we hate!! Seriously, get your priorities straight!!!

      1. In the U S, we have laws that we must follow…we don’t get to pick & choose which ones to follow. That’s what a society is all about!!

    2. Sorry Sarah, calling out entitled folks who are breaking the law is anything but that! Seriously, you really need to get some help with your thought process!!

    3. Sad how some ppl truly feel they above others and rules don’t apply. You rude disrespectful ppl could be the cause for laws to change and cause legitimate sufferers from being allowed to use their dogs. Shame on you…

  1. The question is?????
Why it isn’t being enforced by the stores or law enforcement????
Dog do not belong in food serving stores.
I was in MO’s Bagel in north Miami. 2 dogs were off leash while the customer was ordering food.
It’s the LAW only true service dogs. Not entitled dog owners thinking they are above the law. Store owners & law enforcement must enforce it or it means nothing. Thank you. I’m a dog lover who knows what the dog stepped in or licked. Then they are in my shopping cart. Gross!!!! Let me sit on your couch after going to the bathroom without whipping myself. I know it’s gross. So are pets where we shop for food our or restaurants where we eat. Fleas, tick, mites, skin diseases & itch itch itch. Sorry just needed to vent.

  2. Sad to say, I think the majority of these people are just desperately craving any kind of attention they can get. They are overly thrilled when someone comes up and says awwww, isn’t he or she precious. Sorry, but it is still disgusting for the rest of us!
They need medical attention and some sort of psychiatric care. What about the good ol’ days when people left their pets at home? Instead, these selfish people impose their pets on others. Totally inconsiderate.

      1. That’s not what this guy said but think you already know that. Just your lame attempt to call somewhat out who obviously doesn’t share your political leanings. Maybe you should go back and read his post again…but READ it before you comment on it!

      2. Sam, the only lame attempt was the OP and his prose of “Honorable” DeSantis, provocatively bringing politics into the conversation. Most jurisdictions, regardless of who’s in power, have similar laws as the basis of promoting health, safety, and welfare. Law enforcement is designated to… enforce it! Unfortunately, property owners and management won’t bother with the drama of telling these folks to leave, so I commend this blog filling the void.

  3. The people with a non legal service dog should not be allowed to purchase anything in that store…. Then maybe they will stop bringing their dogs inside with them… I love dogs, but they don’t belong in a place that sells food to the public.

  4. My service dog is cleaner than most of the people in the store. I welcome your questions, if asked politely. But I will not tolerate your harassment. You will get tazed if I feel threatened in any way. Bank on that.

  5. I think supermarkets should have special store carriages that can hold a dog where a person rents the carriage along with paying fo a special liner for the inside of the carriage that is disposable! !

    1. As if foodstuffs haven’t astronomically increased in price already? We don’t need an expensive passed onto consumers to appease those who disregard laws that have been on the books for years… or still have to hear the occasional yelp of a dog, in addition to screaming children and greatest hits of Hootie and the Blowfish.

  6. I love dogs, and cats, but I didn’t take them into stores. Especially stores that had food. I don’t think you are bullying here. You are letting people know the problem here. Not all dogs are housebroken too. I had 4 cockers and I’m here to tell you as much as I worked with them that they had a problem with going to the bathroom. Some dogs have small blatters. Especially little dogs. I don’t like to see dogs in the cart, where you would place your food. Keep the furry ones at home, or at a neighbors home.

  7. Every single one of these people are disgusting and should be publicly shamed. Nasty dogs in carts???? And NONE of these rat like creatures can perform any type of service for their mentally challenged owners. Keep up the good work and let’s continue to expose these sick individuals.
