BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The SUV believed to be driven by a man who struck and killed a West Boca Raton resident over the weekend has been located. While police are calling it “good, old fashioned police work,” they are not yet publicly saying how they found the vehicle.

Albert Barry of the 10500 block of South 228 Lane was struck around 4 a.m. in the area of State Road 7 and Sandalfoot Boulevard. Police at the time only knew they were looking for an older GMC Acadia, possibly 2008 model year.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday announced that the vehicle was found. It’s a 2011 GMC Acadia and apparently used by Carlos Madeira Cardozo of the 2100 block fo SE Mandrake Circle in Port St. Lucie. It was not immediately clear where the vehicle was located. Mr. Cardozo is identified as the driver of the vehicle, but he is not in custody at this time.

PBSO says the investigation is ongoing. Mr. Barry was 65 years old.
