DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Jack’s Pizzeria and Restaurant received two “high priority” and four “basic” violations issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation during a recent inspection. At issue, roaches.

High Priority – Nonfood-grade bags used in direct contact with food. Cooked pizza dough stored in direct contact with can liner in walk in cooler. Operator removed from can liner **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Basic – Walk-in cooler shelves with rust that has pitted the surface. **Warning**

Basic – Stored food not covered. Cooked eggplant, cooked peppers in walk in cooler stored uncovered. Operator covered **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Basic – Nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris. Observed on sides of ovens on cook line **Warning**

Basic – Dead roaches on premises. Observed 2 dead roaches inside of control device on side of salad station. Operator removed and discarded, sanitized area **Corrected On-Site** **Repeat Violation** **Admin Complaint**

The inspection was conducted on April 18th, 2024. A second inspection was conducted on April 19th when one basic violation was logged. The restaurant was not ordered to close at any time.
