Man Steals iPhone From Boca Raton McDonald's, Is Tracked By GPS

News

%%BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — Boca Raton Police tell us that an iPhone saved itself from a possible life of crime. The iPhone, wearing a black and red case, was removed from the front counter of McDonald’s at 2911 Clint Moore Road. Turns out the phone belonged to the manager who looked at surveillance video to determine that it really was stolen. Upon seeing the theft on tape, the manager apparently logged on to a computer and tracked the phone using Apple’s (NYSE:AAPL) iCloud tracking software.
Sure enough, it led police to the “Banyans at Broken Sound.”
Once on the property, Police located suspect Wilfred Smith, Jr., who was identified by the manager as the person who took the phone. The iPhone was returned. The manager decided not to press charges.
