UPDATE: 9:35 AM January 9th, 2013
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — We now have an update from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office which is investigating yesterday afternoon’s serious multiple car accident on US 441 by West Boca Medical Center — an accident that shut 441 between Glades and Palmetto Park Roads for several hours — well into the evening rush.
Police say Shreif Said, 20, was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Camero at an “excessive” rate of speed on the far right hand lane of 441. As he approached Central Park Blvd — the entrance to West Boca Medical Center — a 2013 Lexus RX 350 driven by 32-year-old Stacy Kress attempted to turn into the medical center complex and was struck by Said’s Chevy Camero.
The force of the impact sent both vehicles into a spin.
Said’s Camero flipped, ejecting him from the car. The Lexus stopped in the center of the intersection.
Said and his passenger, 18-year-old Austin Johnson of Boca, were taken to Delray Medical Center where they are listed in Stable condition. Police say neither were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
Kress was rushed Boca Regional Hospital where she is also listed in stable condition. She was wearing a seat belt.
The investigation continues.

  1. I drive past that intersection every single morning and afternoon. I am SURPRISED fatalities don’t occur every day. People- if you can’t SEE- then don’t make a left turn. Period. Case closed. People in that stretch of area are coming at you from all directions! Crazy

  2. We have spoiled 16-year olds with brand new sports cars, unlicensed/uninsured illegal aliens, drunks and pill-mill losers, and elderly people on xanax… and all of them are texting or web-browsing while driving around! I am SHOCKED that there are not multiple dozens of fatalities every single day in every single town around here. When there are serious accidents like this, if it is found that the guilty parties were using their phone at the time of the accident, then the punishment should be PERMANENT revocation of their driver license, PERMANENT revocation of their cell-phone rights, and whatever other punishment goes along with attempted murder! Watch how FAST our roads would become ultra safe and efficient…

    1. Not that I don;t agree with you, but there is nothing stating anyone was texting, unlicensed, drunk or anything else in this particular case. Speeding is is possible but it has not yet been determined.
Let’s wait for the police to complete their investigation. At least no one was killed.

  3. That interception is to danger, my son best friend was killed last Valentine day by a person doing an illegal u turn.Old people should have driving test every year, and others should not text and drive.

    1. I agree that there are a lot of elderly people driving who probably shouldn’t be. However, no one in this accident was older than 32.
No one has mentioned anything about the fact that the 20 year old was NOT wearing his seat belt.
I do believe that parents spoil their kids with fancy and fast cars. What these KIDS don;t understand is that a car is a lethal weapon.
Lord, when will ever learn from mistakes and/or deaths. Our economy has gone down the tubes, jobs lost and so on. But banks are profitable, gas companies are making billions. SO when will we learn to STOP and think.
This is a terrible accident and hopefully, who ever is to blame will receive a good lesson and LEARN FROM IT!

  4. I was there when it happened. Didn’t see the car flip, though it may have, in either case, it ended up back on all four wheels in the grass on the side of the road. Definitely a case of excessive speed – it sent the traffic signal for pedestrians flying, and took out the power to the intersection instantly.
441 has become a nightmare to drive on over the last few years.

  5. I walked by after the accident and was concerned, apparently Ms. Kress was on the pavement down face first, and I was not sure of her condition. I got there about when the paramedics arrived and saw the firefighters crouching around her head checking to see her condition. Was a little freaked out but glad to know that Ms. Kress is OK.
