Why does this woman have a dog in Way Beyond Bagels in Boca Raton? Why did the restaurant not tell the woman to take the dog outside?

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The problem of obnoxious, self-entitled dog owners violating state and federal laws by bringing their dogs into restaurants and supermarkets continues in and around Boca Raton, with readers sending BocaNewsNow.com scores of photos over the past week of people behaving outrageously — all nominated for our “Boca Rudeton™” distinction. This week, the choice is difficult — so many people being so rude — but our winner is the woman who apparently felt it necessary to bring her dog into Way Beyond Bagels at U.S. 441 and Clint Moore Road.

No pets
This sign says it all. ESA’s are fake and not covered by federal statute. They do not belong in restaurants or supermarkets, and it appears that a crackdown may be forthcoming.

What’s even more astonishing: Way Beyond Bagels ran into trouble with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation during a health inspection at its Delray Beach location. Why no one told this woman to leave is unclear — dogs inside of restaurants is a violation of federal law. So let’s get things started: lady with dog doing whatever it wants to do in Way Beyond Bagels, you are our Boca Rudeton winner of the week! We’re fresh out of prizes, but maybe a special BocaNewsNow.com doggie chew toy will be heading your way just as soon as we restock.

Next up is a woman with her dog in Aldi in West Boca Raton. Perhaps she’d need a little less help at the self checkout if she wasn’t wrapped in a leash connected to a dog who — by federal statute — can’t be in the store to start with.

Perhaps this woman would be able to use the self-checkout lane if she didn’t have her dog in the Aldi in West Boca Raton.

Meantime, the dog below apparently wants nothing to do with the women arguing about something in the Super Target on Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach. Why the dog is in the store — just walking around — is unclear. But we hand it to the dog to know that it should just do something else when mommy is in a bad mood.

Super smart dog in the Super Target on Hillsboro Blvd. in Deerfield Beach. But we note dogs aren’t allowed, so it’s unclear why it was there.

So consider this: you don’t feel well, you head to Walgreens at Military Trail and Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton hoping to get some medicine for whatever is making you sick. You get to the store, only to find a woman with her fuzzy wuzzy dog, which only makes you more sick because you’re allergic to dogs! That’s why drug stores traditionally don’t allow pets. But Walgreens at Clint Moore and Military Trail is apparently no ordinary drug store. It doubles as a zoo. That’s why you may want to go somewhere else.

No, we don’t know either why this woman felt it was okay to bring her pet to the Walgreens at Military Trail and Clint Moore in Boca Raton.

Back at Publix Hidden Valley, a woman in a sling seems to have no problem pulling her dog on a leash, at least according to the tipster who sent in this photo.

Woman. Dog. Leash. Sling. Anything seem off? We’re just wondering what was actually happening in the Publix Hidden Valley.

And we wrap things up this week with this woman walking her dog through the fresh food section of the Publix in the Fifth Avenue shops in Boca Raton. Again, Publix has huge signs saying it’s illegal to bring a dog into the store, yet no one seems to care — not even the Publix employee standing behind the lady with the dog. Makes you wonder what else we don’t know about the food in Publix.

A special shout out to reader Dina Bloch who sent us the following note: “I am very concerned about your focus on dogs. I just got a puppy and even with my other dog, I carry them in a bag. They are near me not the food and to me, a child in a dirty diaper in a shopping cart is much worse.” Again, it’s not against the law to bring your child into a store. Your dog is not a child. We are concerned that you do not know the difference.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send us your photos using the form, below. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of Metro Desk Media, LLC.
