Among the latest area restaurants to receive warnings from State investigators: popular Fit Foodz, and newcomer Quates Mexican Restaurant — both in the “Reserve At Boca Raton” shopping center near 441 and Clint Moore Road.

An inspector logged the following issues with Quates and logged the visit as “warning issued,” according to official records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com. We note that we do not edit grammar in official reports provide by agencies:

High Priority – Cooked/heated time/temperature control for safety food not cooled from 135 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 degrees Fahrenheit within 6 hours….cooked ground beef 47°, cooked pork 48° in walk in cooler with covered. Per operator food was cooked yesterday. Stop sale issue.

High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse…. Cooked/heated time/temperature control for safety food not cooled from 135 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 degrees Fahrenheit within 6 hours….cooked ground beef 47°, cooked pork 48° in walk in cooler with covered. Per operator food was cooked yesterday…. Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit….tiramisu 48°, flan 49°, green salsa 60°, milk 49°, horchata 59° , chimichurri 49° in 3 glass door cooler at kitchen. Food being more than four hours.

Cheese 45°, pork 45°,ground beef 44° , pork 44°, ( some food are 42°-43° ) at walk in cooler. Operator adjusted thermostat to make more colder. **Corrective Action Taken**

Intermediate – Handwash sink used for purposes other than handwashing….stored a pitcher in handwashing sink at server station. Operator moved . **Corrected On-Site**

Intermediate – No paper towels or mechanical hand drying device provided at handwash sink at bar and service station. Employee provided **Corrected On-Site**

Intermediate – Ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared onsite and held more than 24 hours not properly date marked…..flan , tiramisu was prepared two days ago …… wrong time marked on ground beef, ground pork, pork , food was cooked yesterday but date marked on today’s date.

FIT FOODZ BOCA RATON HEALTH INSPECTION

At Fit Foodz, an inspector recorded the following and also logged the visit as “warning” issued:

High Priority – Time/temperature control for safety food, other than whole meat roast, hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit…hot holding vegetables stock 119° being held less than four hours. Employee discarded food. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime….can opener blade . Employee cleaned. **Corrected On-Site** **Warning**

Both Quates and Fit Foodz were visited again in the days after the July 23rd inspection. Both restaurants received an acceptable report.
